Workspace Update: Lara Agent, Chat upgrades, Notifications & more

The full Lara Agent experience is now available, Workspace Chat received a major upgrade, notifications are now live for everyone, and dozens of smaller usability issues have been improved across blocks, Boards, sharing, mobile and collaboration.

Lara Agent is now fully available

Lara can now work much more deeply with your Workspace.

When using Lara with a page, you can choose between three context modes:

• No page context — Lara answers without reading the current page.

• Use page context — Lara uses the content of the current page when responding.

• Deep page context — Lara performs a deeper review of the page before answering.

This makes it much easier to ask questions about documents, improve existing content, summarize complex pages or let Lara work directly with what you already have in your Workspace.

Lara can also understand a specific webpage when you paste a URL into the appropriate context flow. Instead of searching the web based on keywords, Lara can read the content of that exact page and use it as context.

This functionality is also available on the Free plan. Agent mode is only available from Plus.

Web search remains a separate capability: Lara can still search the broader web when needed.

Lara Agent has also been upgraded to GPT-5.6 Luna, improving instruction following, language consistency and the overall quality of agent interactions.

And importantly: Agent actions can now be rolled back.

After Lara makes changes through Agent mode, a new Rollback action appears under the message, allowing you to revert the changes if the result is not what you wanted.

Workspace Chat received a major upgrade

Workspace Chat is becoming much more useful for actual collaboration.

You can now see when another person is typing, making conversations feel significantly more responsive.

Messages also support read receipts, so you can see who has already read a message.

The new Chat Info area gives you a central place to manage a conversation. From there, you can:

• search previous messages,

• browse media that has been shared,

• and, if you are the owner, delete the entire chat.

Links inside chat messages are now automatically detected and visually underlined so it is immediately clear when something is clickable.

We also added a full emoji picker. You can insert emojis directly into messages, and reactions are no longer limited to a predefined set. A new + button opens the emoji picker so practically any emoji can be used as a reaction.

Workspace Chat has also been improved for mobile devices with larger controls, better spacing and more comfortable message bubbles.

Share Workspace blocks directly in Chat

Workspace Chat and the editor are now more closely connected.

From a block's menu, you can now share that block directly into the Workspace Chat.

The shared block becomes a reference inside the conversation. When someone selects it, Workspace takes them directly to the original block.

This is useful when discussing a specific paragraph, task, table, idea or section without having to explain where it is located.

Mentions are now visible directly on the Chat icon

The Workspace Chat icon can now display a red mention counter.

If someone mentions you, the number of unread mentions appears directly on the Chat button.

This counter is connected to the new notification system, meaning it respects your notification preferences. If the corresponding notification is disabled, the mention counter will not be shown.

A completely new notification system

The new ReadyTools notification system is now available to everyone.

It was designed to support both direct user activity and large system-wide notifications without creating unnecessary database load.

Workspace mentions, chat activity and similar personal events can generate individual notifications, while global ReadyTools announcements use a lightweight campaign-based architecture.

Instead of generating thousands or millions of duplicate notification records when a global update is published, the system stores the campaign once and only creates individual state when a user actually interacts with it.

Notifications are delivered in real time and automatically reconcile after reconnecting, helping ensure the notification center stays synchronized even after temporary connection issues.

The system also includes multiple layers of protection against abuse and notification spam, including rate limiting, deduplication and mention cooldowns.

Notifications have been designed for both desktop and mobile, with a compact desktop popover and a dedicated mobile interface.

Better sharing and invite management

Previously, it could be difficult to remember which Workspace invite links had already been created.

The Share interface now shows your active sharing links, making it much easier to manage existing invitations.

If a link should no longer provide access, you can now clearly see it and remove it instead of leaving an unknown active invite somewhere.

We also strengthened Workspace permission checks so invited users with View Only access cannot accidentally modify content.

Plan-based upload limits

Workspace uploads are no longer unnecessarily restricted by a fixed 50 MB limit.

The maximum upload size now follows your ReadyTools plan.

If your plan supports larger files, Workspace will no longer block them simply because they exceed the old Workspace-specific limit.

Better YouTube embeds

YouTube embeds now behave more naturally.

If a block contains only a YouTube URL, Workspace no longer places it inside an unnecessary text bubble.

Instead, the video is displayed directly as a clean standalone embed.

Markdown copying for blocks

Individual Workspace blocks can now be copied as Markdown directly from the block menu.

This makes blocks significantly easier to reuse outside ReadyTools and especially useful when providing context to AI models.

For example, lists, tasks and structured content can now retain much more of their original meaning when copied into another AI tool or document.

AI inside Math blocks

Math blocks now include built-in Lara assistance.

Instead of manually building more complicated mathematical expressions, you can ask Lara to help generate or structure the content of the Math block.

This makes it much easier to create equations, examples and mathematical content without manually writing everything from scratch.

Boards: faster card creation

Creating cards in Boards now has a better flow.

Instead of creating a card with placeholder content and forcing you to rename it afterward, Workspace asks for the card title during creation.

It is a small change, but it removes an unnecessary step every time a new card is added.

Smoother editing throughout Workspace

Several smaller editor behaviors have also been improved.

Selecting content across multiple blocks is now smoother and more predictable.

Table name editing has been fixed so typing spaces and editing text no longer feels overly aggressive or causes characters to be skipped.

Pasting a URL into normal Workspace text also no longer creates an unnecessary empty line. The link remains naturally in the same line where it was pasted.

We also fixed an issue where user information could appear twice beside a block.

More reliable context handling

Workspace Chat previously treated some pasted URLs as web context in situations where it should not have.

This has now been separated properly.

A normal URL inside a chat remains a normal link, while Lara's dedicated webpage context functionality explicitly handles reading the linked page.

This makes the behavior much more predictable and avoids accidentally invoking webpage context when you simply wanted to send someone a link.

This update brings together a lot of changes that individually may look small, but collectively make Workspace considerably better for collaboration.

Lara can understand more of your work, Agent actions are reversible, Chat is becoming a real collaboration layer, blocks can be referenced directly in conversations, permissions are safer, notifications now connect the entire system, and many everyday editor interactions require fewer unnecessary steps.

And this is also the official release of the full Lara Agent experience in ReadyTools Workspace.
