ReadyTools Vault is a secure cloud storage solution and the central media backbone of the ReadyTools ecosystem. It serves two core roles: standalone cloud storage for files/folders, and unified asset storage directly powering all ReadyTools applications (Linksy, Workspace, Lara, Profile, QR codes & more).

Vault applies two-way AES-256-GCM encryption to private file names, tags, and folder associations using unique derived keys before storage. Files are uploaded directly to isolated storage using short-lived signed URLs, private downloads require time-limited authenticated access tokens, and access is enforced at the database level.

No, Vault uses robust server-side encryption, encrypted metadata, and strict access isolation rather than end-to-end encryption (E2EE). This design enables instant in-browser previews, fast indexing, seamless integrations across ReadyTools apps (such as Linksy and Workspace), and essential automated moderation to protect against malicious or abusive content.

You can organize files with unlimited-depth folder trees, custom folder colors, and over 20 distinct icons. The system also includes a Bulk Action Bar for multi-file selection, batch downloads, moves, and deletions.

Pressing Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) opens an instant, token-based search that ranks results by name, tags, and folder path in real time. It features full keyboard navigation and dedicated filters for Images, Videos, Audio, PDFs, Code/Text, and visibility.

Vault includes built-in viewers for images (with 25%–500% zoom and rotation), HTML5 video and audio players, an integrated PDF reader, and a code editor with syntax highlighting for major programming languages.

Vault supports drag-and-drop batch uploads for up to 100 files simultaneously. It includes optional client-side image compression (PNG, JPG, WebP) to save your storage quota, parallel transfer streams, and real-time upload speed indicators.

You can generate unique public short links (/v/[slug]) with a single click. Links lead to a responsive public view page with integrated media previews, download options, and direct sharing to WhatsApp, Telegram, or email.

Files are never automatically deleted upon plan changes. Excess files are safely preserved in a protected 'frozen' state. You can review and clear space via the Broom cleanup tool (/vault/storage/broom) and instantly unlock frozen files once quota is available.

Personal tiers include: Free (25 MB total, 20 MB/file), Go (5 GB total, 250 MB/file), Plus (500 GB total, 250 MB/file), and Max (1 TB total, 2 GB/file).

You can switch seamlessly between Personal and Team contexts. Teams offer shared expandable quotas (+100 GB/member on Teams, +250 GB/member on Business), role-based permissions (Viewer, Member, Admin), and optional public-only upload constraints.
